Identify the existing equipment
Before asking for a replacement price, gather the equipment make and model and the current plate specification, if available. The aim is to help the supplier understand exactly what is already installed.
If a part number is missing, say so. A photo may help start the discussion, but appearance alone does not confirm compatibility.
Put the matching details together
Prepare a dimensioned drawing or the measurements available to you. Include the connection details, required quantity and material being filtered. Identify which dimensions are confirmed and which still need checking.
- Equipment make and model.
- Existing plate dimensions and connection details.
- Current drawing or specification sheet, where available.
- Application, quantity and delivery destination.
Send only information you are authorized to share. Remove customer names, labels and other confidential details from photos and drawings.
Ask for a confirmed match
Ask the supplier to confirm suitability for the actual equipment and application. If customization is proposed, request a clear description of what will differ and which details require your approval.
“We need replacement plates for [equipment make/model]. I have a drawing or photos available for follow-up. Quantity: [number]. Required delivery: [date/place]. Please advise what else is needed to confirm compatibility.”
Keep unresolved questions visible before an order is placed. A broad product range is not a guarantee that any individual plate will fit.
